Xcel Energy is offering 30% bonus rebate for T12 re-lamping or retro fits from April 1, 2012 until December 31, 2012. Total rebates cannot exceed 75 percent of the cost of the work done. In addition to the rebates offered on the replacement of T12 bulbs, Xcel Energy also has rebate programs on some HVAC equipment, roofing and windows.
Heating Efficiency rebates are offered on boilers, furnaces, water heaters, pipe insulation and boiler tune ups. To qualify the equipment must use natural gas from Xcel Energy as the primary fuel and be devoted to either space heating or domestic water heating.
Cooling Efficiency rebates are offered on chillers, condensing units, indirect/hybrid evaporative cooling, oversized cooling towers, rooftop units, packaged terminal air conditioners, split systems and water source heat pumps. To qualify the property must be an Xcel Energy electricity customer and purchase new equipment from the qualifying cooling system list.
Custom Efficiency rebates are offered on roofing and windows for Xcel Energy natural gas and electricity customers. Applications for these rebates must be submitted for pre-approval prior to work beginning. Xcel Energy requires that you get estimates for the work to be done, use the estimate to apply and only after receiving approval have the work completed by the vendor.
For additional information on Xcel Energy rebates, qualifications and procedures you can either visit their website at http://xcelenergy.com/LightingEfficiency or call 800-481-4700 and ask to speak to an Energy Efficiency Specialist.
Depending on where your property is located there may be some additional rebates being offered by either the City or County. You should contact the local municipality of each property to see what rebates they offer before you begin any project; this will allow you to make sure you meet all criteria necessary to receive the rebates.
